LOUIS BUTTON CO." on the reverse, illustrating the left-facing bust of a Native Chief wearing a headdress. surrounded by the inscription "UNITED INDIAN WARS VETERANS", backed by a Bath-style cross with the organizations acronym letters "U, I, W, V" on the arms, measuring 39 mm (w) x 45 mm (h) inclusive of its integral suspension, original ribbon fed through the integral suspension and inscribed in silver-colored screen-printed text "CAMP 24 / N.Y.C. / UNITED INDIAN / WARS VETERANS / U.S.A.", suspended from a bronze gilt hanger inscribed "VETERAN", the reverse of the hanger maker marked "ST. LOUIS BUTTON CO." with pinback, spotting, near extremely fine.
