Includes two pieces: Jacket and Overseas Garrison Cap. The jacket is fabricated from a fine brownish-green wool, button down epaulette straps on both shoulders, each of which is secured in place by a large brown plastic button at the neck end, with a First Lieutenant rank insignia pinned in place on both straps. There is a 101st Airborne "Screaming Eagles" patch in red, white, yellow and black embroidery sewn in place on the left shoulder, the right shoulder patch-less. The front has two pockets, one on each breast which have decorative straps giving them a pleated-look with brown plastic buttons at the top, flanked by dual snaps, each pocket with a fold over flap and when lifted up, exposes a reinforced button hole on a tab, so when the buttons are fastened, they remain invisible to the eye, covered by the flaps. The left pocket is missing a stud snap, while the right pocket is missing a stud snap and a socket snap in opposite corners. Appearing above the left breast pocket is a Combat Infantryman Badge, with a ribbon bar bearing the ribbons of the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart and the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with two Silver Stars pinned in place below. Each of the collars are adorned with a U.S. Collar Badge and Infantry Collar Devices, the CIB and collar badges secured in place by dual push pins. The front is completed by a vertical row of five large brown plastic buttons on the right side, facing an equal number of reinforced button holes on the left side, discreetly hidden under a flap. The forearm on the left sleeve has two overseas bars (stripes, AKA "Hershey Bars") in gold-colored rolled bullion wire on an army green wool base, representing one years' overseas service. Both cuffs are of the button down variety, each of which has two brown plastic buttons.
The waistline at the front has a short strap on the left side, the strap with a large socket snap, and is designed to be joined to the large stud snap on the right side. There are belts with a metal length adjustment buckle stitched in place on both sides at the waist, ensuring a snug fit. The interior is lined in a brownish-green nylon, with top entry pockets placed in the breasts behind both exterior pockets, the left pocket with a label inscribed "Saks - Fifth Avenue / Lot BJ48 Size 36" sewn inside the edge of the pocket, along with a strap sewn in place in the collar to allow for hanging upon a hook. The jacket measures 450 mm across the shoulders x 545 mm in length, is free of mothing, exhibiting a wonderful texture in the wool, along with quality workmanship. Accompanying the jacket is an Overseas Garrison Cap, the exterior in browning-gray wool, with the side edges and sloping edge on the right side trimmed in a strip in black embroidery interlaced with gold-colored bands. There is an U.S. Army Airborne Infantry patch in silvered bullion wire, in various textures, on a cobalt blue wool base sewn in place towards the front, where it overlaps the sloping edge on the right side, while the left side has a First Lieutenant rank insignia pinned in place near the front. The interior is lined in a fern green nylon and incorporates a 25 mm wide leather headband, the cap measuring 290 mm (w) x 130 mm (h). It exhibits scattered mothing in the wool throughout on the exterior. The jacket near extremely fine, the cap very fine.
