Norway, Nasjonal Samling. A Rare Order of Bravery and Loyalty, II Class, c.1941
Type II. Constructed of bronze with multi-coloured enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with a horizontal pinback, consisting of a Norwegian Cross with swords piercing the centrepiece, the obverse overlaid by a central gilt eagle clutching an enameled Nasjonal Samling- (NS) style Sun Cross, the reverse bearing a central raised inscription of “TAPPER OG TRO” (“BRAVERY AND LOYALTY”), unmarked, measuring 43.37 mm (w) x 46.04 mm (h), weighing 19.6 grams (inclusive of ribbon), a rare decoration in extremely fine condition.
