Australia, Dominion. A 1929 George V Centenary of Western Australia Medal
Bronze, obverse illustrating the left-facing bust of King George V surrounded by the inscription "GEORGIVS V REX ET IND: IMP:", reverse illustrating a standing swan fronting a ribbon banner inscribed "CYGNIS INSIGNIS", surrounded by the inscription "CENTENARY OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA 1929" and engraver marked "K.G", 38.5 mm, scattered spotting, very fine. Footnote: Approximately 85,000 of these medals were struck at the Perth Branch of the Royal Mint, to commemorate the Western Australian Centenary in 1929, and about eighty-five percent of these were distributed to the school-aged children of the State.
