An Australian Vietnam Medal 1964-1973 to the Royal Australian Regiment - (16413 A.A. REED). Naming is engraved on the Fullsize medal. Original ribbons, the Miniature with pinback, extremely fine. Footnote: Allan Alfred Reed was born on February 8, 1935 in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. He served in the rank of Sergeant (16413) in the Vietnamese theatre with the 6th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment, from June 2, 1966 to July 6, 1966. The 6th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (RAR) was raised at Alamein Barracks in Brisbane on June 6, 1965. It arrived in Vietnam in June 1966 and formed half of the infantry component of the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF) with 5RAR. The task force replaced 1RAR in Vietnam. It was stationed at Nui Dat in Phuoc Tuy province.
