A scarce multirayed ten-pointed star in silver, with alternating arms of one and three projecting rays, the obverse centre presents an enameled white five-pointed star with silvered framed, bearing a central medallion with the Crescent Moon symbol also in silver, with plain reverse, the star is suspended by an ornamented suspension loop inscribed ‘Tamgha-i-Khidmat’ in Arabic lettering, measuring 42.81 mm (w) x 65.56 mm (h - inclusive of the loop suspension), the reverse is marked with unidentifiable letters SSP, presenting minor tarnished silver, extremely fine condition.
Footnote: The medal was instituted on March 16, 1957 to reward long and distinguished military service. The first version known had a bronze central medallion while the second version has a white enamel medallion.
