Four-piece construction, centrepiece on both sides in Gold with red and white enamels, mounted to a cross base in silver gilt with blue and white enamels, unmarked, measuring 54.5 mm (w) x 84.8 mm (h) inclusive of its crown suspension, crazing, chipping and loss evident in the white enamels on the tips of the arms at 3, 6 and 12 o'clock on both sides, adhesive residue on the arms on both sides due to repositioning of the centrepieces, traces of gilt remains on the obverse, soiled original full-length neck ribbon with dual snap closure and dual collar clips, near very fine.
Footnote: The Military Order of Christ was instituted in 1917, based on the earlier Order of Christ and is awarded for outstanding services to the Republic in government, diplomacy, public service and administration, in five grades: Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight.
