In silver gilt, a nine armed star with clusters of five dual pronged smooth rings, superimposed on the obverse is a nine armed red enamelled star with a large central medallion depicting a crest surrounded by a white ring inscribed MERITO INDUSTRIAL, the star is surmounted by a green enamelled wreath, the reverse is plain, marked on the suspension ring with a Portuguese eagle head denoting silver fineness of 925, and a unknown makers mark, measures 67.75mm (w) x 96.60mm (h – inclusive of integral ring on wreath), weighs 65.2 grams, small enamel chip to obverse medallion, light wear and contact marks around edges and reverse, remains in near extremely fine condition.
Accompanied by a full length red and white watered silk sash, unconnected at ends, in extremely fine condition.
