Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with an inscription of “VERDIENST UM DEN STAAT” (“SERVICE TO THE STATE”) inside of a laurel wreath, the reverse with a monogram of Kaiser Friedrich Wilhelm III, measuring 39.27 mm in diameter, weighing 24.4 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in near extremely fine condition.
