(Landwehr Dienstauszeichnung I. Klasse). Instituted 4 July 1868 by King Wilhelm I. (1868-1918 issue). Constructed of silver with gilt, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms, the obverse with a central gilt medallion bearing a raised of King Wilhelm I, the reverse with an analogous gilt medallion bearing a number “20” in Roman numerals, unmarked, measuring 38.85 mm (w) x 43.46 mm (h), weighing 14.9 grams, in near extremely fine condition. (Landwirthschaft Leistungsabzeichen). Constructed of blackened bronze, on loop for suspension, the obverse with a central monogram of King Wilhelm I, within a laurel wreath topped by a crown, above an inscription of “VOM KOENIGE GESTIFTET 1818” (“INSTITUTED BY THE KING 1818”), circumscribed by an inscription of “PREIS MEDAILLE DES LANDWIRTHSCHAFT VEREINS” (“PRIZE MEDAL OF THE AGRICULTURAL ASSOCIATION”), the reverse with a seated figure being crowned by an angel, with livestock in the background, the reverse maker marked “WAGNER” for Wagner & Sohn, Berlin, measuring 40.80 mm in diameter, in better than very fine condition.
