(Roter Adler-Orden Kreuz 2. Klasse). Instituted 12 June 1792. Type IV. (1854-1918 Issue). A gilded silver cross pattée with white-enamelled arms, the obverse centre presents a white enamelled medallion depicting a Brandenburg crowned eagle, the reverse centre engraved with a crowned cipher of King Friedrich Wilhelm III, hand-etched letter W on bottom of six o’clock arm for maker Johann Wagner & Söhne, Berlin, measuring 47.39 mm (w) x 547.27 mm (h), on flat loop for suspension from period original neck ribbon, and in better than extremely fine condition.
