This is an extremely well-preserved edition of “Trade Guns of the Hudson’s Bay Company 1670-1970”, by S. James Gooding. It is constructed of a glossed heavy card stock binding, with the exterior of the cover featuring an image of flintlock rifles flanked by title and author. The reverse bears an extensive list of other publications published by Museum Restoration Service as part of the Historical Arms Series. The interior content of the book consists of 158 glossed white card stock pages with extensive historical accounts of the role of firearms in the history of the Hudson’s Bay Company, as well as descriptions of the weapons, supplemented by black-and-white photographs. It was published in 2003 by Museum Restoration Service of Bloomfield, Ontario, and Alexandria Bay, New York. The book measures 180 mm (w) x 255 mm (h) and is in an extremely fine condition.
