Each of the five volumes are hardcover, with a white paper cover, the front cover on each illustratiing a Waffen-SS soldier, with each of the covers displaying a different patterned design on the back cover, authored by Roger James Bender and Hugh Page Taylor, designed and illustrated by Roger James Bender, published by R. James Bender of San Jose, California, with various publication dates, printed in the United States of America, covering an assortment of topics as they relate to the Waffen-SS.

Volume 1: copyrighted by the authors in 1969, first printing in June 1971, this fourth printing in May 1986, ISBN 0-912138-02-5. It begins with a Table of Contents, followed by an Introduction, along with an Acknowledgements and a Foreword by Otto Skorzeny (former SS-Standartenführer of the Waffen-SS, commander of the SS-Jagdverbände (Special Forces) and February-March 1945 commander of the Division Schwedt a. d. Oder, and holder of the Oakleaves to the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross; dated October 1969 at Madrid, Spain) and contains five sections: Waffen-SS Headgear; Waffen-SS Uniforms, Insignia and Accoutrements; Waffen-SS Sleeve Diamonds; Waffen-SS Rank Insignia; Vehicle Markings and Registration Plates. It concludes with a Bibliography. The book contains 160 pages and measures 157 mm (w) x 235 mm (h) x 16.5 mm (d).

Volume 2: copyrighted by the authors in 1971, first printing in December 1969, this fourth printing in May 1986, ISBN 0-912138-03-3. It begins with a Table of Contents, followed by an Introduction along with an Acknowledgements and contains three sections: Control of the Waffen-SS; Control of the Waffen-SS as a Military Force; Introduction to the Waffen-SS Divisions.
