Both the front and reverse exterior of the cover bears a colour image of various firearms and ammunition, with medals, and with an author and title topping the former. The interior content consists 216 paper pages with a detailed history of notable American- and European-manufactured firearms and their roles in various conflicts, supplemented by both colour and black-and-white photographs and illustrations. It was published in 1979 by Salamander Books of London, United Kingdom. The book measures 225 mm (w) x 305 mm (h). Some material fatigue is evident, but the book is in an overall better than very fine condition.
