Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

United States. The Northwest Gun

Softcover, entitled "The Northwest Gun", by Charles E. Hanson, Jr., Director, Museum of the Fur Trade, Chadron, Nebraska, for the Nebraska State Historical Society of Lincoln, Nebraska, Publications in Anthropology, Number Two, published in 1955, copyrighted in 1956 by the Nebraska State Historical Society, reprinted in 1970 and in 1976. It begins with a Table of Contents, followed by a two page Preface by the author. The book contains ten chapters: 1 - Facts and Fancies; 2 - Early Types; 3 - HBC (Hudson's Bay Company) Leads The Way; 4 - The Northwest Gun Appears; 5 - The American Fur Company Meets Its Competition; 6 - The Indian Bureau Bows To Popular Demand; 7 - Passing Into Antiquity; 8 - Identification Of Northwest Guns; 9 - Indian Rifles; 10 - Secondary British Types. The tenth chapter is immediately followed by a page of Proof Marks, incorporating twelve line drawings identifying Pre-1813 Birmingham marks, later Birmingham Marks, early period and 19th century London marks, along with Belgian marks. The first portion is text only, while the last thirty pages are devoted to fifty-seven black and white plates featuring various types of guns listed under the headings: Historical British Muskets, Guns of the Nor'Westers, Barnett Northwest Guns, Percussion Hudson's Bay Guns, Late Hudson's Bay Northwest Guns, American Fur Company Northwest Guns, Trade Guns Made in the United States, Indian Trade Guns - Late Period, Breech-Loading Types - 1876 Period, Special British Types. The book contains 98 pages, printed in black ink, on a semi-coated paper stock, the cover printed in cyan and black inks on a fire yellow card stock, perfect bound, measuring 197 mm (w) x 265 mm (h) x 6 mm (d). It exhibits light wear and soiling on the cover, a crease evident on the corner of page 65-66, with the last page of 85-86 loose versus the binding, however, the majority of pages within remain unaffected. A terrific resource book for collectors and researchers of the origins and history of the Northwest Gun.
