(RSI = Repubblica Sociale Italiana = Italian Socialist Republic). Softcover, the front cover with photographs, the back cover with a colopurized line graphic, entitled "Distintivi e Medaglie della R.S.I. (R.S.I. Badges and Medals - 1943/45)", by Fausto Sparacino, published in 1988 by the Italian Military Publishing House (Editrice Militare Italiana) of Ivo Fossati in Milan, as part of the "Militaria" Series ("Serie "Militaria"), copyrighted in 1988 by Editrice Militare Italiana, protected by copyright under the Berne Convention. The text is in both Italian and English, the publication illustrating and describing in detail the various medals and badges used during the Italian Socialist Republic, with most of the various items illustrated in full colour, some in black and white, complemented by many black and white period photographs of both men and women in the various units of the RSI. It begins with a Word of Thanks, followed by a Bibliography, an Introduction and an Historical Foreword. The publication is divided into six sections: 1. National Republican Army (Esercito Nazionale Repubblicano); 2, National Republican Navy (Marina da Guerra Repubblicana); 3. Republican Air Force (Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana); 4. National Republican Guard (Guardia Nazionale Repubblicana); 5. Republican Fascist Party/Black Brigades/Republican Police (Partito Fascista Repubblicano/Brigate Nere/Polizia Repubblicana); 6. Medals and Orders (Medaglie e Ordini). It concludes with a list of other titles previously published by Editrice Militare Italiana on the back cover. The book contains 96 pages of text and photographs, printed in four-colour inks, on a semi-coated white paper stock, the cover in colour on a white card stock with a laminated finish, measuring 185 mm (w) x 250 mm (h) x 10.5 mm (d), exhibiting a scuff mark at the top of page 1, the images on pages 52 and 57 having offset onto pages 53 and 56 respectively. Better than very fine.
