What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Hardcover, maroon cloth cover, the front cover along with the spine bearing images and text embossed in gold-coloured ink, the front cover featuring an embossed illustration of the Legion of Merit Chief Commander Star, entitled "Orders and Decorations of All Nations, Ancient and Modern, Civil and Military, Second Edition" by Robert Werlich, copyrighted in 1974, published by Quaker Press of Washington, D.C., printed by William T. Cooke Publishing Inc. of Devon, Pennsylvania, with the company's embossed stamp placed on the back cover. The lead page states that "This book is dedicated to the memory of King Peter II of Yugoslavia (1934-1970) in acknowledgement of his kindness in conferring upon the author in 1970 the Order of Saint Sava, Third Class, for services to the throne.", with a photo of the King wearing his air force tunic below with the tagline "King Peter II of Yugoslavia, making a wartime B.B.C. broadcast, London, 1944.", followed by three brief sections: Acknowledgements, Introduction and Definitions, along with a basic generic line drawing sketch of Customary Locations of Significant Markings. Each award is explained through the use of photographs or drawings, along with descriptions and explanations as to when and why they were issued. It covers the the various kingdoms, republics, empires, federations, states, be they monarchical, democratic or socialist, including: the United States of America, Afghanistan, Albania, Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Bhutan, Bolivia, Botswana, Brazil, Brunei, Bulgaria, Burma, Cambodia, Canada, Cile, China, Colombia, Congo, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cuba, Czechoslovakia, Dahomey, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Estonia, Ethiopia, Finland, France, Germany, Ghana, Great Britain, Greece, Guatemala, Haiti, Hawaii, Honduras, Hungary, Iceland, India, Iran, Iraq, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Ivory Coast, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Katanga, Kenya, Korea, Laos, Latvia, Lebanon, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Madagascar, Malawi, Malaysia, Mali, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Mongolia, Montenegro, Morocco, Nepal, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Niger, Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Rumania, Russia, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Serbia, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Slovakia, Somali, South Africa, Spain, Sudan, Sweden, Syria, Tchad, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Uganda, U.S.S.R., Vatican, Venezuela, Vietnam, Yemen, Yugoslavia, Zambia, Zanzibar. It exhibits light wear on the cover, however, the adhesive that had originally secured the sections of pages to the spine has dried, forcing separation of the pages from the cover itself. Although the pages are no longer affixed to the spine, they are all in order and intact, free of marks and soiling. Fine.
