Romania, Kingdom. A Crusade Against Communism Medal, with Two Campaign Clasps and Package, by the Romanian Mint
Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon fastened with Crimea and Doneţ (Second Battle of Kharkov) campaign clasps, the obverse bearing a central raised Geneva Cross, overlaid by a hand clutching a sword, flanked by a date of “1941”, circumscribed by an inscription of “CRUCIADA ÎMPOTRIVA COMUNISMULUI” (“CRUSADE AGAINST COMMUNISM”), the reverse bearing a raised and leftward-facing female figure, circumscribed by an inscription of “ROMÂNIA RECUNOSCĂTOARE (“ROMANIA IS GRATEFUL”), the reverse engraved maker “P. GRANT”, measuring 32.02 mm in diameter, weighing 16.4 grams, accompanied by its period original package of issue, constructed of light brown paper stock, the exterior bearing the names of the award and the Romanian Ministry of National Defence, in addition to a maker’s mark for the Romanian Mint, measuring 52 mm (w) x 112 mm (h), a rare complete set in extremely fine condition.
