The original St. Anna Order 3rd Class certificate has an accompanying German document glued to the inside. The original Russian document is dated to 25 October 1868. The order is awarded to Sanitätsrat (medical councillor) Dr. Tobold for services to the imperial academy of medicine and surgery in St. Petersburg. The German letter is dated to Berlin on 23 January 1869 and was sent on behalf of the minister of clergy, education, and medicine.

Measuring 223 mm (w) x 351 mm (h), presenting multiple folding creases, light scuffing of the edges, and two minor tears, remains very fine.
