Russia, Imperial. An 1897 Medal for the Kiev Agricultural and Industrial Exhibition
Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse bearing raised plaques featuring detailed depictions of the pavilions at the 1897 Kiev Agricultural and Industrial Exhibition, circumscribed by a Russian Cyrillic inscription details the scenes and situated within a semi-circular laurel and oak leaf wreath, the reverse bearing crowned and stylized shield featuring wheat and St. Michael (the patron saint of Kiev), topped by a Cyrillic inscription of “KIEV 1897”, unmarked, measuring 50 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition.
