Institution Date: December 28, 1988. In silver and with gold plated silver with red and white enamels, it is maker marked on the reverse by Monetny Dvor and engraved number “000169”, it is on a five sided suspension with a horizontal pinback, with period ribbon measuring at 44.7mm (w) x 49.7mm (h) and weighing 41.3 grams. Accompanied by the Award Book detailing the number of the award document (957584), which also includes a corresponding medal number (169).

 

Footnote: The Order for Personal Courage was established on December 28, 1988. This Order was conferred upon citizens of the USSR in recognition of valour and bravery in saving lives, service during natural disasters, crime-fighting, or other acts of personal courage. It was awarded a total of 529 times.
