(Medaille zur Erinnerung an die Silberne Hochzeit Herzog Alfreds). Issued 1899. A round silver medal; the obverse depicting the rightward facing busts of Duke Alfred and Grand Duchess Maria, circumscribed by their names and titles, as well as the years married (1874-1899); the reverse depicting the two family’s coats of arms, inscribed “TREU UND FEST” (German - Loyal and True); on a double loop for suspension; measuring 34.59 mm in diameter; suspended from a period original ribbon; in overall very fine condition.
