Saxe-Altenburg, Duchy. A 30-Year Honour Cross for Servants, c.1890
(Silberne Ehren-Auszeichnung für 30 Jahre). Instituted 16 September 1886 by Duke Ernst I. (1886-1895 issue). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Shamrock Cross, the obverse with a central raised number “30”, circumscribed by an inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE”), the reverse with a central raised monogram of Duke Ernst I, unmarked, measuring 44.39 mm (w) x 49.17 mm (h), weighing 20.5 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in better than very fine condition.
