Constructed of gilded bronze, with a hollow crown suspension and loop with a period original bowtie ribbon, consisting of a round laurel wreath, the obverse with a rightward-facing profile of Charles Edward circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with an inscription of “FUER KUNST UND WISSENSCHAFT” (“FOR ART AND SCIENCE”), unmarked, measuring 33.00 mm (w) x 58.07 mm (h) (inclusive of crown suspension), weighing 26.2 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in extremely fine condition.
