Serbia, Kingdom. An Award Document for the Order of the White Eagle, IV Class Officer’s Cross
Constructed of white paper stock, the obverse bearing an elaborated printed design featuring the name and title of King Peter I of Serbia, topped by a Serbian coat of arms, flanked by a detailed etching of the Order of the White Eagle, and situated above an ornate watermark in the form of a Serbian national eagle overlaid by a coat of arms, featuring a printed and handwritten dedication to a recipient of the IV Class Officer’s Cross of the Order, initially awarded by order on 20 March 1917 and officially bestowed on 1 May 1926 (the delay presumably owing to the First World War and subsequent reorganization of Serbia within the new Kingdom of Yugoslavia), measuring 35 cm (w) x 49.5 cm (h), demonstrating folding creases, in extremely fine condition.
