Fullsize: three-piece construction, in silver gilt with blue and white enamels, measuring 61.5 mm (w) x 69.5 mm (h), on its original full-length neck ribbon, exhibiting extensive chipping and flaking in the white enamels on the arms on both sides, along with the blue enamels on the centrepiece ring on the reverse; and Miniature: three-piece constriction, in silver gilt with blue and white enamels, measuring 26 mm (w) x 29 mm (h), exhibiting extensive chipping and loss in the white enamels on the arms on the obverse, rosette affixed to its original ribbon with pinback. Accompanied by its 10 mm wide Rosette, in their hardshelled case of issue, red pebbled exterior, inside lid in white nylon, padded and maker marked "CONDAL RIO", base with a medal bed in red felt, with recessed areas for the Order, Rosette, Miniature and missing Ribbon Bar, case measuring 148 mm (w) x 187 mm (h) x 41.5 mm (d), exhibiting scuffing along the hinged area on the exterior and light soiling on the white nylon lining.
2. Order of Naval Merit, IV Class Officer (Ordem do Mérito Naval). Instituted in 1934. Fullsize: three-piece construction, in silver gilt with blue and white enamels, measuring 51 mm (w) x 58.5 mm (h), large rosette affixed to its original ribbon with push pin, one scuff mark present on the reverse of the arm at 3 o'clock, otherwise the enamels are intact; and Miniature: three-piece construction, in silver gilt with blue and white enamels, measuring 26.8 mm (w) x 29.5 mm (h), rosette affixed to its original ribbon with pinback, spots of glue present on both sides of the arm at 9 o'clock, likely due to repositioning of the centrepieces in the past. Accompanied by its Ribbon Bar, measuring 36.5 mm (w) x 10.5 mm (h) with a large rosette affixed, dual push pins, and its 10.7 mm wide Rosette with push pin, in their hardshelled case of issue, red pebbled exterior, inside lid in white nylon, padded and maker marked "Randal RIO", base with a medal bed in red felt, with recessed areas for the Order, Miniature, Ribbon Bar and Rosette, case measuring 128.5 mm (w) x 167 mm (h) x 37.5 mm (d), exhibiting scattered marks on the exterior, along with soiling in the red felt medal bed.

Footnote: The Order of Naval Merit was instituted on July 4, 1934 and is awarded to those who have served with distinction in the Brazilian Navy or contributed in some way to the Navy, in five grades: Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight.
