Instituted in 1822, Type III instituted in 1932. In silver gilt with white, light blue and dark blue enamels, maker marked "la royale RIO BRASIL" on the reverse, measuring 77.3 mm (w) x 73.5 mm (h), vertical pinback, light crazing evident in the white enamels on the arms at 5 o'clock and 7 o'clock, near extremely fine.
