Three early examples of the star, including a five pointed multi-rayed star in silver, with obverse centre featuring a Chilean escutcheon in red and blue enamels, reverse inscribed EJERCITO DE CHILE 20 AÑOS DE SERVICIOS (Chilean Army, 20 Years of Service), measuring 34.12 mm (w) x 37.47 mm (h - inclusive of integral ring), presenting minor lost of enamels and toned silver, suspended by original ribbon with horizontal pinback hanger and a five pointed star clasp in silver, very good; accompanied by the star for 10 years of services, consisting of a smooth five pointed multi-rayed star in silver gilt, with obverse centre featuring an enameled blue and red Chilean escutcheon, with plain reverse, measuring 41.24 mm (w) x 44.45 mm (h - inclusive of integral ring), presenting lost of gilt, suspended by original ribbon with horizontal pinback hanger, very good; set completed by the star for 10 years of services, a five pointed multi-rayed star in silver, with obverse centre featuring a Chilean escutcheon in red and blue enamels, plain reverse, measuring 41.67 mm (w) x 44.57 mm (h - inclusive of integral ring), presenting minor toned silver, suspended by original blue ribbon with horizontal pinback hanger, very good.
Footnote: The Star for Years of Service was presumably instituted in 1916 as a military decoration for length of meritorious service. These medals have been amended many times, including in the years, 1916, 1930,1935,1947,1948,1960 and 1977.
