Three-piece construction, in silver gilt with blue, red, white and green enamels, hand-painted image on the white enamelled centrepiece, maker marked "la royale RIO BRASIL" on the reverse, measuring 72.5 mm (w) x 72.5 mm (h), vertical pinback, intact enamels, extremely fine.
Footnote: The National Order of the Condor of the Andes is a state decoration of Bolivia that was instituted on April 12, 1925. The Order is awarded for exceptional by Bolivians or foreign nationals, and can be awarded to both civilian or military personnel, in six grades: Collar, I Class Grand Cross, II Class Grand Officer, III Class Commander, IV Class Officer and V Class Knight.
