The stiff visor is finished in black felt on the upper, with two facing branches of laurel leaves and berries in rolled gold-coloured bullion wire across the width of the visor, as are both sides of the sidewalls at the front, the raised midribs of the leaves in rolled gold-coloured bullion wire in a twisted pattern, the front portion of the visor with a band of angled rolled gold-coloured bullion wire and gold-coloured sequins framing the leafing, the front edge of the visor trimmed in a strip of black vinyl. Inside, the underlying stiff framework on the sidewalls is wrapped in black felt, with a 38 mm wide leather sweatband with a pecan brown upper and white cotton underside, the ends of which are stitched at the rear and securing the ends of the sweatband together. The dome is lined in a red silk-like fabric, with a diamond-shaped moisture shield that incorporates a name plate slot with a white paper inserted and marked "Alcalde Alvarez" in black running script.
