In silver gilt, a Commander’s set consisting of a multirayed eight-armed cross with bifurcated ends, joined by a gilt band in each quadrant, obverse centre superposing by the bust of the national hero Francisco de Miranda facing left, surrounded by an enameled red border inscribed his name, the reverse exhibiting the Venezuelan coat of arms encircling by an ornament edge, measuring 40.94 mm (w) x 58.68 mm (h), accompanied by an original neck ribbon, virtually mint condition; together with the Commander’s star also in silver gilt, an eight-pointed star with cluster of five rays in each quadrant, the obverse depicting an enameled red medallion inscribed FRANCISCO DE MIRANDA, surrounded by a silver laurel wreath, reverse with pinback, marked by maker’s mark of N.S MEYER INC. NEW YORK, denoting manufacture of late 1940s, measuring 78.24 mm (w) x 78.31 mm (h), presenting minor roasted silver, otherwise near to mint.
