Spain, Civil War. A Franquist Falange Youth Knife with Belt & Buckle, c.1936
A set of a Franquist period Spanish Falange youth knife with belt and buckle, composing of a knife measuring 297 mm inclusive of the hilt, consisting of a brushed (magnetic) blade measuring 136 mm long, etching SEAM above of buried date “1936/8” on the reverse ricasso; brushed (magnetic) scabbard with a dull edge and a chipped tip, with thick blackened-brown leather washer at the crossguard junction sits firmly in place via two rivets, featuring a belt-loop with snap closure marked button to hold the knife in place; the crossguard consisting of a rounded finger guard, with signature black bakelite grip plates on either side of the grip, with a Spanish Falange embedded into the obverse of the grip; the belt is constructed of leather, with length approximate of 910 mm, with a black obverse and a raw caramel coloured underside, with one end of the belt featuring a belt loop, and the other a traditional Spanish Falange belt buckle; blade and scabbard exhibiting several oxidation from age, in overall fair condition.
