What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

Spain, Facist State. A Rare Traditionalist Phalanx of the Councils of the National Syndicalist Offensive "High Command" Flag, c. 1940

(Falange Española Tradicionalista y de las Juntas de Ofensiva Nacional Sindicalista = FET de las JONS). The flag is composed of six silk panels, each side with a single black panel in the centre, flanked by red panels on either side, the black representing gunpowder and the red representing blood, the black panel on the obverse bearing the large yoke and set of five arrows insignia in red embroidery, five large tabs stitched in place on the left side and forming a hoist sleeve, a red cord with dual tassels stitched in place to the top tab, an additional red cord stitched in place to the lower left corner of the flag, measuring 1,200 mm (w) x 785 mm (h), free of holes and soiling. Extremely fine.

Footnote: The Falange Española de las Juntas de Ofensiva Nacional Sindicalista (FE de las JONS = Spanish Phalanx of the Councils of the National Syndicalist Offensive) was a fascist political party founded in 1934 as a merger of the Falange Española and the Juntas de Ofensiva Nacional-Sindicalista. The Falange Española de las JONS, which became the main Fascist group during the Second Spanish Republic, ceased to exist as such when, during the Civil War, General Francisco Franco merged it with the Traditionalist Communion in April 1937 to form the similarly named Falange Española Tradicionalista y de las JONS, which became the sole legal party in Spain until its dissolution in 1977.
