What's a max bid?

Spain, Kingdom. An Order of Isabella the Catholic in Gold, Commander, c.1900

(Orden de Isabel la Católica). Instituted 1815 by King Ferdinand VII. 1875-1931 Issue. A pleasant example of 18kt Gold, consisting of a red enameled four-armed cross with ball finials, embellishing by multiple rays in each quadrant also in Gold, obverse centre exhibiting a finely detailed hand-painted design on enamels of multiple colors, surrounded by the inscription A LA LEALTAD ACRISOLADA (To the Pure Loyalty), the reverse depicting period cypher of Ferdinand VII on an elegant enameled dark blue background, encircled by an enameled white border inscribed POR ISABEL LA CATOLICA (For Isabella the Catholic), adorned by nicely enameled green laurel wreath suspension, measuring 54.85 mm (w) x 92.52 mm (h - inclusive of neck suspension), weighting 30 grams, light contact, suspended by an original neck ribbon, near mint.

 

Footnote: The Order of Isabella the Catholic was instituted in recognition of those who had served the interests of the Spanish Crown in Latin America and overseas. It is currently conferred to foreigners and Spanish citizens either women or men for meritorious civil acts, especially those that foster the relationships between Spain and other nations.
