Neck Badge in silver gilt with red enameled feathers and facial features, centre in silver gilt with green and blue enamels, reverse displaying semi-circular makers crest of E.Gardino, measuring 53.8mm (w) x 72 mm (h) inclusive of horizontally peirced star integral suspension, centre piece slightly loose, on period ribbon, extremely fine. Breast Badge in 8 pointed silver, hand etched star, with silver gilt centre piece with blue and green enamels, darkly toned reverse with matching semi-circular makers crest of E.Gardino, measuring 85.5 mm (w) x 86.2 mm (h), no enamel loss to laurels, extremely fine. Set safely housed within Gardino Case of issue with recessed medal bed comfortably supporting both insignia, strong hinge and catch, fine.

Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
