Tirol Landesverteidigungsmedaille. Instituted in 1866. In silver, engraver marked ""TAUTENHAYN"" on the obverse, measuring 31 mm in diameter, contact marks evident on the obverse and on the raised rims, original triangular ribbon with hook and eye, very fine.
Footnote: The medal was instituted on September 17, 1866 and awarded to the forces that had opposed the incursions of the Italian irregular forces of Garibaldi into the southern Tyrol.
