1952 - Present. (Ehrenzeichen für Verdienste um die Republic Österreich, Großes Silbernes Ehrenzeichen am Bande). A Silver Grade Grand Cross Set consisting of a star and a cross; the star with eight tips, constructed of silvered bronze; the obverse decorated by a bronze gilt Austrian coat of arms, surrounded by the coat of arms of all nine states in enamels; the reverse plain, with a vertical pinback, and a functional hinge/catch assembly; maker marked “Anton Reiterer Juwilier Wien IX. Schubertring 24” on the reverse; measuring 96.89 mm (w) x 97.89 mm (h); weighing 99.0 grams. The cross in the shape of a Maltese cross constructed of bronze gilt and white and red enamels; suspended from a bronze gilt Austrian coat of arms, surrounded by the coat of arms of all nine states in enamels; measuring 49.85 mm (w) x 49.71 mm (h); suspended from its period original ribbed sash; in virtually mint condition.

Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
