With sash badge in silver with a white enameled five pointed star displaying a gilt centre motif with blue enamels, hand filed detailing to star, reverse marked Lattes, crown suspension in gilt, measuring 63 mm (w) x 93 mm (h - inclusive of crown), extremely fine. A larges Grand Cross Star in silver with intricately hand filed detailing, a five pointed white enameled star with gilt crown and centre, blue enamels, reverse with pin assembly and two stays, measuring 95 mm (w) x 96 mm (h), extremely fine. Set housed within case of issue, in wood, paper bound with gold embossed detailing, silk interior lid displaying printed J.Lattes maker mark, front clip detached yet present, star sits slightly askew, otherwise fine.

Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
