July Medal, Silver Grade (in silver, measuring 32.5 mm in diameter, original ribbon); Colonial Medal, 1 Clasp - MAROC (in silver, engraver marked "GEORGES LEMAIRE" on the obverse, hallmarked with a "1" flanked by dual cornucopias on the reverse, measuring 29.5 mm in diameter, original ribbon); Franco-Prussian War Commemorative Medal 1870-1871 (in bronze, engraver marked "GEORGES LEMAIRE" on the obverse, measuring 29.7 mm in diameter, original ribbon); and Order of Academic Palms, Type III (1866-1955) (in silver gilt with violet enamels, measuring 27.8 mm (w) x 40 mm (h) inclusive of its ball suspension, chipping evident in the violet enamels on the obverse, original ribbon). This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
