What's a max bid?

France: Order of Academic Palms (Ordre des Palmes académiques), Officer of Public Education, Type III (1866-1955) (in silver gilt with violet enamels, measuring 9.5 mm (w) x 12.5 mm (h), on a 16.5 mm rosette with magnetic black metal buttonhole attachment, maker marked "ROTHE ET NEFFE WIEN" on the attachment); France: Order of Academic Palms (Ordre des Palmes académiques), Officer of Academy, Type III (1866-1955) (in silver gilt with violet enamels, measuring 9 mm (w) x 12 mm (h), on a 14 mm x 25 mm ribbon with magnetic black metal buttonhole attachment, marked "FOR GENTLEMEN" on the attachment); and Spain: Royal and Military Order of St Hermenegildo (Real y Militar Orden de San Hermenegildo) (in silver gilt with red, white, blue and green enamels, measuring 19.3 mm (w) x 19.3 mm (h), ring-style buttonhole attachment). Intact enamels, extremely fine.

This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society. His knowledge and passion for history and awards is evident in this meticulously compiled collection that is now available in its entirety for the first time exclusively on eMedals.com.
