A grouping of pins including a miniature sheathed bayonet fixed to a magnetic needle pin, marked “GES.GESCH.” on reverse, measures 37.57 mm (w) x 10.31 mm (h), weighs 3.1 g, and in very fine condition, a miniature rifle on a magnetic needle pin, marked “GES.GESCH.” on reverse, measures 67.27 mm (w) x 13.85 mm (h), weighs 5.1 g, and in very fine condition, a miniature enamelled sabre through three various painted caps, stamped with “1915,” fixed to a needle pin, measures 63.26 mm (w) x 19.26 mm (w), weighs 17.3 g, with moderate pain and enamel wear, and in fine condition, crossed sabers fixed to a needle pin, measures 40.13 mm (w) x 22.15 mm (h), weighs 4.0 g, and in fine condition.
This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
