A collection of four cap badges, including a 1916 Styr Front badge, constructed of silvered tombac, presents a frontward facing armoured soldier, on a vertical pinback, measures 27.29 mm (w) x 43.10 mm (h), and in good condition. A 1915-1918 Elektro Baon Badge, on a vertical pin, maker marked G. GURSCHNER WIEN VII, measures 24.85 mm (w) 38.21 mm (h), and in very fine condition. A SCH RGT. 30 cap badge, constructed of tombac, on a vertical pinback, measuring 27.01 mm (w) x 35.479 mm (h), and in good condition. A XXV Korps cap badge, with the dates 1914 and 1917, on a horizontal pinback, measuring 39.85 mm (w) x 29.99 mm (h), and in good condition.
This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
