A lot of five military handbooks for use by troops in the field, one for Schweizerisches Heer (Swiss Army), Rumänisches Heer (Romanian Army), Griechisches Heer (Greek Army), Bulgarisches Heer (Bulgarian Army), and Ungarisches Heer (Hungarian Army), each measuring approximately 10.8 cm (w) x 15.1 cm (h), presenting scuffing and creasing along edges, ranging in conditions from very fine to near extremely fine. A book of postcards titled Historische Uniformen des k. Bayerischen Heeres 1800-1873, by Th. Kurz, published in Munich by Otto Weihrauch, containing a grouping of coloured postcards presenting illustrations of various military scenes, bound by a softcover presenting the title in black ink, measuring 14.3 cm (w) x 9.4 cm (h), and in near very fine condition.
This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
