In silver; the arms constructed of white, red, and blue alternating enamels, the obverse with a round central red enamelled medallion depicting the royal cipher of Danilo I in silver gilt, circumscribed Danilo I, Prince of Montenegro in Cryllic script, surrounded by a ring of red and white enamels, as well as a silver sun rays, the reverse with a similar central medallion, dated 1852/1853, circumscribed For Independence of Montenegro in Cyrillic script, surrounded by a ring of red and white enamels, as well as a silver sun rays, with a silver gilt swivel crown, ring, and broad double loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, an unmarked example however likely manufactured by V. Mayer, measuring 50.90 mm (w) x 73.85 mm (h) with its swivel crown suspension, light contact marks on the enamels, but without chips or flakes of any kind, with light wear to the gilt on the crown, very fine.
