"Ordin " "Corona Romaniei". Instituted in 1881. Type I (1881-1932 Issue). In silver git with red and white enamels, Romanian crown on the obverse centrepiece, measuring 70 mm (w) x 70 mm (h), intact enamels, extremely fine.
Footnote: The Order of the Crown of Romania is a chivalric order established on March 14, 1881 by King Carol I of Romania, to commemorate the establishment of the Kingdom of Romania. It was awarded as a state order until the end of the Romanian monarchy in 1947 and was revived on December 30, 2011 as a dynastic order. The order had five classes: Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight.
This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps.
