A finely made award consisting of a wide armed Maltese cross composed of multiple silver rays, obverse centre well executed with three crowns in Gold and enamels, with hand etched Motto TRIA JUNCTA IN UNO ("three joined in one") on red enameled background, with pleasing Gold scalloping surround, reverse with Gold pin and catch, with engraved makers mark "R & S Garrard & Co, Goldsmiths & Jewellers to the Crown, 25 Haymarket London", measuring 72.00 mm (w) x 72.00 mm (h), finely toned, extremely fine.
This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
