Germany, Heer. An EM/NCO’s Belt Buckle 1938

(Heer Gürtelschnalle). Constructed of aluminum, the obverse bearing a raised central Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, within a ribbed ring bearing a raised inscription of “GOTT MIT UNS” (“GOD IS WITH US”) and oak branches, the reverse with a loop and dual attachment prongs, retaining a short length of brown leather belt, stamped with the illegible maker’s mark of a Lüdenscheid-based manufacture and a date of “1938”, measuring 62 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), in overall better than very fine condition.
