(Orden Philipps des Großmüthigen, Ritterkreuz 1. Klasse). Instituted 1 May 1 1840. Type II. (1859-1918 Issue.) A white-enameled cross pattée in Gold, the obverse with a light blue enameled medallion bearing the leftward facing bust of Philip the Magnanimous in Gold, the reverse with a light blue enameled medallion bearing a rampant lion in multi-coloured enamels, surrounded by a ring of white enamels, measuring 15.54 mm (w) x 17.67 mm (h - inclusive of integral ring), weighing 1.7 grams, extremely fine.
