Wurttemberg, Kingdom. An Order of the Wurttemberg Crown, Miniature Knight, c. 1914
Instituted September 23, 1818 by King Wilhelm I. Composed of Gold, a white enamelled Maltese Cross, the obverse center medallion presents a superimposed crowned F on a white enamelled field, surrounded by a red enamelled ring inscribed FURCHTLOS UND TREW (Fearless and Faithful), the reverse center medallion presents a superimposed crown on a white enamelled field, surrounded by a red enamelled ring inscribed FURCHTLOS UND TREW (Fearless and Faithful), the cross is surmounted by cross swords and an integral suspension ring, measures 15.80mm (w) x 19.62mm (h – inclusive of crossed swords), weighs 2.2 grams, enamels intact, one sword lightly bent, very fine condition.
