An extremely well preserved example of a Clasp to the Iron Cross 1939 First Class (Spange zum Eisernen Kreuz 1939 1. Klasse) by Wilhelm Deumer of Lüdenscheid; constructed of silvered tombac in the form of a German National; eagle with out-spread wings clutching a wreathed mobile swastika ontop on a banner dated “1939” within a pebbled field; the reverse plain, with a vertical pinback; maker marked “L/11” for Wilhelm Deumer of Lüdenscheid - also displaying Deumer’s typical die-flaws within the numerals; measuring 44.32 mm (w) x 29.83 mm (h); weighing 9.0 grams; in overall mint condition.
